When my husband Marty and I were looking for a new place to settle, during a life transition… we searched many areas of the country. What we were looking for was not something that we could clearly articulate at the time, in fact our fantasy hometown seemed equally as elusive as it was ineffable. I know now what we were searching for: We had set out to find the best place to raise our newborn son: a small, rural community with deep roots in the land, surrounded by saltwater with a vibrant community and dynamic downtown. We needed it to be diverse and welcoming, with many places to gather for eating, drinking and good conversation. We wanted a first run movie theatre and a place with an appreciation for arts and culture. Sound familiar? How absolutely fortunate we were to stumble upon Port Townsend!
I have been here over 22 years and still feel the same way about Port Townsend. I love my work, finding just the right place for my clients or helping my sellers go on through their own life transition.
I came to Port Townsend from Southern California having owned two successful restaurants, starting my first at age 24. I became a real estate broker and I started with Windermere Port Townsend in 1993. I bought the business with a partner in 2005, and in 2016 became sole propietor.
My work ethic developed early in my life, working with my parents in our family grocery store. I love my job and my clients. I have consistently been one of the top 3 agents in our county for over 20 years. I communicate well with my clients to keep you aware of the buying or selling process. I enjoy finding solutions to any issue that may arise.
I believe in giving back to my community and as such I have been involved in both Jefferson County and Port Townsend local government and as a volunteer for many non-profits. As a real estate broker it is of vital importance to know land use regulations and community planning efforts that will affect my clients. And without our non-profits we would not have the vibrant community we love.
I served on the Jefferson County Planning Commission for 6 years, helping to write the County’s Comprehensive Plan. I served on the City of Port Townsend’s Non-Motorized Transportation Planning Committee helping to write the Trail Plan of Port Townsend.
I have served on the City Council of Port Townsend for 4 terms, 15 years (continuing today) having served two terms as Mayor.
My board of directors’ service for my community’s wonderful non-profits include: The Food Co-op, Port Townsend Rotary, Centrum Art Foundation, Northwest Maritime Center and the development committee of the Jefferson Land Trust and adviser for the Community Owned Quimper Mercantile.
Windermere Port Townsend has an excellent reputation for professionalism and effective real estate services. As an owner I am very proud of our office, staff and our agents. In the year 2012 and 2013, as the top office in Jefferson county, we brokered 7 million dollars more in sales than our closest competitor .I continue to love selling and listing real estate as a broker. I have been the highest selling real estate agent in our county many years running. Four of the top 10 agents in our county were from our Water Street Office. We believe that we are "Agents of Good Roots!"
